Chris Jamieson raises £1000 for charity running Seville marathon
Chris Jamieson, our head of development, ran the Seville marathon on 19th February and raised over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK. It was his first marathon and he completed it with a time of 4:35:46, placing him 18th in his category.
Chris said: I had a really fun day, and it was a great sense of acheivement to complete the race in a time I was happy with. The run itself was very well organised, with lots of water, oranges and sponges (a necessity in the 24 degree heat!). I enjoyed the run very much despite a few tough moments (getting cramp in my right foot around the 22 mile mark, for example), and I made a couple of new friends along the way. Crossing the finish line in Seville's huge Olympic Stadium was a real thrill, and the city is a beautiful place to run anyway. I would like to send out a huge thanks to everyone who sponsored me; knowing I was running for such a great cause really spurred me along.
If you'd like to sponsor Chris, his Just Giving page will be open for further donations until 19/05/2012.
